Zzz

As expected this Shitmyx connection was screwed up again since Saturday evening. Iam really speechless for their incompetence. Ranting further is futile. Just hope games in Facebooks won't fail me at the meantime.

Finally I applied to study A-Level at INTI Subang, took 4 subjects: Physics, Maths, Chemistry & Economics. This coming Thursday will be the orientation day, don't know what to do by then. But whatever, hope to meet someone there ;p

The course will commence at 4th May, I'll have to do lots of catch-ups as my brain has rusted for idling 4~5 months at home without thinking anything..or prepare to be smoked by my future classmates for forgetting even the basics of Maths.

That's it. I just make the most out of my time to enjoy before getting serious again.

Finally?

Just to catch your attention. lol. Obvioulsy this figure strayed too far, I'm on a 1mbps line..unless this TMNUT capped my speed wrongly...huhuhu

Anyway here's another list of speedtests done just now:
So I guess the Hong Kong line has been restored completely?

Tests to the U.S. looked normal too. By the way I tried to test on New York and Chicago but their latency exceeded 1k and won't bother to start.

In Europe, the speed wasn't bad for Frankfurt. On the other hand, connection to London sucked big time, but that didn't cause much of a big fuss to me..

Finally I can see decent speeds to overseas that I should get after more than a half month. Youtube clips buffered slightly faster than before, though now I manage to watch some clips in High Quality before getting frustrated. I still have a hard time accessing Facebook...But the most important thing is of course my direct download speeds! Rapidshare downloads @ Teleglobe managed to maintain at around 100 kB/s, still not able to achieve maximum speed, but for now it's a lot better than 0 kB/s..Megaupload on the other hand is still screwed to the max, hovering at an average speed of 10 kB/s...

Can I finally stop the rant? I hope so, for now. No one knows if any shit happens again in the future. I better utilise it as much as I can for now, who knows if they fcuk the line up again tomorrow?

TMNUT did it again!

The deadline of 17th April had passed, and TMNUT once again prove that they are a company of liars. I managed to run a few speedtests, even it's really making me suffer hard. Let's start with our beloved neighbouring country:
Decent speed, which I should have it anyway.

The so-called affected areas:
i) Hong Kong
Just above par with a 56K. o0o

ii) USA
The speed for both of these locations are just around the same with that of Hong Kong, which is typical.
This is an exception, tests done at LA are the fastest among all other USA locations I've tested. But still it didn't help me in any way.

To show that Screamyx is actually fcuked up in everywhere instead of just HK and USA, I've done a test to one of the European countries. My pick was Frankfurt, Germany. That's the coolest figure I got to see! Sub-56K speed and latency exceeding 1k. And the download test actually started 5 minutes after the completion of latency test. WTF? One can only find this kind of shit-like speeds in Malaysia. Again, MALAYSIA BOLEH(LEBIH LAMBAT DARIPADA KURA-KURA)!

Based on the figures, I've formed a conclusion. Screamyx may be the best ISP* in Malaysia ONLY, but the WORST ISP in the entire world! THE BIGGEST JOKE IN THE WORLD EVER. Even their Screamyx website cannot be accessed now. WTF, too scared to face us so you decided to bring down the server together? This one's a big PHAIL. GAGAL.

There's a Chinese speaking "打是疼, 骂是爱", which literally means "hitting and scolding you means loving you". I couldn't agree with it for this situation, as TMNUT Screamyx is just not worthy enough for me (and anyone else) to love it. Why spoil my health on this failed worthless company providing failed services? They are not going to improve anyway. So instead of scolding TMNUT, now I'm going to CURSE and SWEAR upon them, at least this shows my hatred against them. 屌你! o0o

Oh btw, alphabets is a good form to swear. It was an old song, but still nice to listen in this situation:

每天吃饱都要上来这里駡两句. LOL. Oh fcuk, TM..(buffering)..D..(buffering)..yo C..(buffering)..CB..(buffering) *yawns*.

What more can we do instead of swearing? Again, nothing. As I said before, monopolisation = disaster. Let me remind you on this:
WHERE MONOPOLISATION IS THE WAY TO GO!

*ISP = Intranet Service Provider**
**only applicable to Malaysian ISP, Screamyx precisely.

Screamyx kanasai la!

A good picture says a thousand words. In this case, thousands of foul words from me to Tmnut Screamyx.

I could normally finish the downloads of this size within 1 hour, but now, more than 7 hours and still not finished. Look at the speed, it's actually slower than 56K (56K max speed @ 56/8 = 7KB/s). To rub salt on the wound, a 5-minute Youtube clip and cost me 15 minutes before completely buffered, speedtest.net won't bother to load, and most importantly, RS & MU d/l speed are now 0KB/s! WTF eh Mr.Nut, my dad pays you RM88 to give us speed crappier than 56K? You better not even cap my direct download speed after you "fixed" that stupid problem.

Look, they first promised us to fix the problem by 5th of April, before delaying to 9th of April. Now, it's 17th of April according to some forummers in Lowyat.net. WTF. KNNB eh Tmnut Screamyx, don't make false promises la. If you promised straight to fix it by 30th of April I also won't feel so mad, at least I wasn't cheated, as I hate being cheated A LOT. Also, if I'm going to get stuck with this crappy speed for half a month, or even longer (you know la, what if This Monkey NETwork company lies again?), will you give me a fcuking rebate to compensate the inconvenience caused due to your own incompetence? YOU WON'T! You money sucking company.

But what can we do to improve it? Nothing literally. This is what happens when a company monopolizes a certain sector and is backed by the gov'ment. There aren't any worthy competition for them to improve their service. Maxis BB? Celcom BB? iZZi? Or even the newcomer P1 Wimax? Nah. I've heard enough the negative sides of them, none of them can be better than this Shitmyx at the moment. Even P1 with their so-called Wiggy that can reach speed of 10mbps is not that good, click here to learn more.

This Screamyx finally made me look like an uneducated fag that goes over the place ranting here and there. I think this is what This Monkey NUT company wanted after all, they wanted us to look like monkeys when they themselves are a bunch of lazy monkeys. Well, yuck fou, if that's what you want!

I had enough. I'm not going to look like a kid due to this issue again, it's so tiring, and retarded, and who knows if they decide to sue me for ranting more here? I think I'll just bombard their unhelpful call centre when my limit's hit.

MALAYSIA BOLEH! I hope Malaysia can achieve Wawasan 2020 Wawasan 20202.

One side note, PC Fair is getting worse by time, especially with the presence of Screamyx with huge booths. Not 1, but 2! The first one was located at the first hall we got to enter. I even hear the promoters shouting "STREAMYX, COMBO.. ... ..". WTH, spoil my mood to stay longer la. The second one was located at the exit, as always. Now this time they're tricky. It looks like they've played TD games and have mastered the basic of mazing. This time, we can't get to exit the hall straightaway. Instead, we have to pass through the whole row of ISP companies, with Screamyx being one of them. Yeah well..the hell with it. I'm out.

A day at Jusco..err..I mean half

What's the best thing to do when TMNUT Screamyx failed you? Hang out with a bunch of friends! Yeah I've just returned from Aeon Cheras Selatan a.k.a. Jusco. It was a nice day to hang out as today is Wednesday, when movie tickets are cheaper! We watched 2 movies: Fast & Furious 4 and Shinjuku Incident.

Our group consisted of 5 friends. Coincidentally, we bumped onto 5 other friends of another group, which has exactly the same schedule with us as well. Looks like Wednesday is a good day to bump onto friends after all.

Our first movie to watch was Fast & Furious 4, and so we entered the cinema (duhz). Well, this movie wasn't as cool as I expected: Racing all the way long (noob thoughts). It does have some thrills though. But honestly, I watch the babes more than the cars as I know nothing about cars, obviously. Sad. Overall, the movie still has a nice storyline.

We had our lunch at McDonalds after the first movie session. I don't know why we always eat there everytime we go out. Perhaps they serve fast food which is the easiest to eat lol. We then visited Popular bookshop to read some books and waited time pass (earliest Shinjuku Incident session was at around 3pm, we had hours to waste). I bought my first English novel (excluding those novels forced to buy for school syllabus), Tom Clancy's Debt of Honour.
It just costed me RM13.40 after 10% discount. Wtf. It's so cheap for a mini dictionary-like-thick (and VERY old) book. Just hope that I can finish it by next year. lol

Finally the time to watch Shinjuku Incident arrived. We entered the cinema again (duhz), but for some reasons the cinema room didn't have any lights other than those beside the seats. It's a complete dark situation. It would be nice if there was a girl beside me. LOL j/k.

This movie interested me. It's the first time I see Jackie Chan acting is such violent movies. The movie is about the hard lifes of illegal Chinese immigrants to Japan during the 1990s. During their early days there, everything seemed happy because everyone was united. After 铁头 (Jackie Chan) accomplished some dirty works as ordered by some Yakuza leader, the illegal Chinese immigrants finally obtained status and power over the area, but things just started to get worse.

I won't spoil any further, I'm not good at narrating anyway, so you'll have to watch it to get a clear picture. This is not an action movie as acted by Jackie Chan usually, instead it's heavier on drama. This movie depicts the ugly side of human, where human is selfish, money-minded and do not care for their former comrades. Everything ended up in a conflict, which is another ugly thing as well. If there's a sentence like "all's well ends well", then "all's bad ends bad" is the only thing I can say now. lol

Imagine if the same thing happens in Malaysia in the future, when illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries flock into our country, forms a gang, and conflicted with local triads (if there's any), what will happen? Can I reckon that movies like "Kuala Lumpur Incident" or "Malaysia Incident" might come out by that time?

TMNUT Screamyx?

I'm sure that a lot of you Tmnet Streamyx (I call it Tmnut Screamyx from now on) users have noticed that our internet speed deteriorated enormously for the past week. In fact this situation is normal since problems like this arises every month, or perhaps every week?

What makes me to blog about this problem anyway? It's so normal in this country that we Screamyx subscribers should have gotten used to it by now. But this thing matters me now because recently, I think I just earned myself the "heavy downloader" status, and this problem had just got me pissed off.

While torrents are as slow as always since they were throttled by Tmnut to "optimize bandwidth", direct downloads shouldn't be affected by it. I was able to download files from Rapidshare @ Teleglobe and Megaupload with at least 100kB/s, if not at full speed @ 180kB/s. That was before last week. Now, neither of them can barely even reach 10kB/s. WTF. I don't think there's anyone that won't get pissed to see this.

And I went to their website to look for their announcements.
31/03/2009
SERVICE INTERRUPTION

Dear Valued Customers,

Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM) wishes to announce that there is a disruption of its Internet services due to circuit faults on the SMW3 between Tuas, Singapore and Penang linking Malaysia to Hong Kong and APCN2 near Chongming, China connecting Malaysia to the United States. As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong.

In addition, customers using other IP services such as Virtual Private Network (VPN) and other critical business applications linked to the U.S. and Hong Kong may also experience some service degradation.

To alleviate the problem, some of the links have been rerouted to alternate routes to ease the congestion.

Restoration works on the affected cables are already in progress. However, during the restoration process, traffic to Northern America and Hong Kong may experience degradation. However, traffic to other countries will not be affected. TM expects complete recovery of its services by 5 April 2009 and will make further announcements on the progress of the restoration works.

TM wishes to assure its customers that it is undertaking all necessary measures to restore communications services for its customers as soon as possible.

Customers can call TM at 100 and select “Internet Services” or e-mail us at help@tm.com.my for any Internet related problems.

Thank You.

Ok now, what does "As a result, customers using the Internet services may experience slow browsing while accessing websites hosted in the U.S. and Hong Kong" and "However, traffic to other countries will not be affected" means? I can't recall browsing websites hosted in other countries especially European countries were fast. By the way, surfing websites hosted in U.S., H.K. and China were never fast prior to this incident as well!

And, they stated that the problem will be fixed by 5th of April which was 2 days ago, but they have yet to fix it by today. Anyway, I just found out from Lowyat.Net forums that it has been delayed until 8th of April, which is tomorrow. I don't know how real will it be, it's just like dealing with a conman, where the conman always make sweet promises to pay back the money to the victim but always gives some lame reasons to buy some time for him to 走佬 (run away). I hate these kind of empty promises, this is just cheating customers! I wonder how companies like this can exist in this world! Well, only Malaysia has it. MALAYSIA BOLEH!

Update: Just found out again from a fellow forummer that the link to H.K. has been fixed as indicated by speedtest, although the speed is still not that good. Now, let's hope that the link to U.S. can be fixed ASAP, to keep our mouths shut, for now.

Disastrous JPA interview

I've done it again, there's no doubt that I'm VERY bad in communicative skills.

Today was a big day for me. I had to attend an interview held by JPA in PICC. This was the first formal interview I'd gone through so I wore long sleeve tee, a tie, a pair of slacks and a pair of leather shoes. And I combed a nerdy hair, which is an upgraded version of my usual messy hair.

I arrived half an hour earlier as my interview starts at 2pm. The feeling was never any better than taking my SPM result, in fact it's way worse. First, everyone has to go to a whiteboard to find their name and sign on it before going upstairs. There were many panels, and I was at Panel 8, which is the same panel with a schoolmate of mine.

And there you wait until about 1.45pm before the gate was opened so the interviewees can go in and wait outside their respective panel's room. Wait for your turn to be called to hand in your documents to the staffs, then you will be given a number tag and a piece of paper for you to write out the points during discussions. I was the first group to be interviewed. Together with me was a Chinese girl, a Malay girl and 2 Malay boys.

Finally we were called to enter the interviewer's room. There were 3 interviewers, which comprised of 2 Malay man and 1 Chinese woman. We greeted them and we were asked to introduce ourselves in BM in 2 minutes. Ok at least I prepared for this, but eventually I talked too much and was cut down by the interviewer and he just wanted to know what course did I chose, but wtf? I think I didn't talk for even 1 minute yet. Zzz

Fine, the intro section ends and things just got worse. The next section will the group discussion conducted in English. We were given 2 topics:
1) Consumption of junk food is growing among children. Discuss.
2) Which 3 country would you like to work in? Why?
I stuttered all the way long, my mind was messed and I can't voice out my opinions in an orderly manner. Besides, I was the last person to talk for both topics. So I was left with limited choice as most easy points were already voiced out by my group members.

The interview session was followed by another group discussion but this time it was conducted in BM. My body's own special pogative/nesitive feedback mechanism is working at it's best during this period. Why some unknown facts again? Act pro when I look pathetic? Allow me to explain. I call it pogative/nesitive because it's a great fusion of both positive feedback and negative feedback mechanism. The negative feedback mechanism causes my body to shiver like hell in an attempt to regain heat, whereas the positive feedback mechanism causes my body temperature to continue dropping when the surrounding temperature is already that cold. With this "revolutionary" feedback mechanism, my body shivers to lose heat, which further inhibits my already worse understanding and communicative skills. There's no cure to this symptom as of today. Period.

Back to the story. With my pogative/nesitive feedback mechanism it's almost impossible for me to talk any more, don't even say thinking. Besides, BM is my fatal spot. Expect me to be stunned right at the spot. Anyway, I did crap something out to make me look less a phail, just that the 2 Malay interviewers looked like they were going to fall asleep from my speech.

Then finally, it's the ending. They allowed us to ask some questions related to this scholarship. My group members obviously had many questions to ask, everyone of them. I tried so hard and finally I squeezed out a question. What a huge success. Yay!

And so it ended after that. We thanked our interviewers and walked out of the room. The whole process took 1 hour which was longer then we expected. My group members looked so happy, while I felt that I'm a phail. Whatever, I could only blame myself for being an introvert, idiot, n00b. It's too late to change anything. But looking at the bright side, future disappointment has been eliminated since I didn't have any hope of securing the scholarship from that point on.

Overall, the interviewers were good enough to not headshot me right at the spot, it's just me that shot myself in the leg. So friends, if you're going for an interview, your calmness will be the key to your success. Always equip yourselves with the current issues happening around the world, and of course, sharpen your mind and communicative skills. Sorry, I'm still too depressed to give any good advice here, and I think I'm not eligible to give as well.

To interviewees from my group, I'm perhaps the noobest person you'll see in your life. So, remember my n00b face, remember how phail I am during the interview, and call me n00b if you meet me by any chance.

Anyway, I hope those shortlisted candidates who will be having their interview for the next few days, good luck!

P.S.: I'm aware of what day is today, but given the situation now I just can't do it, so read the whole crap passage without feeling being cheated.

Kthxbye.
