Procrastinating

Tomorrow, and tomorrow, and tomorrow. When will I really focus on studying after so many tomorrows? Oh when there's an exam tomorrow.

Procrastinators -- The leaders of tomorrow.
Procrastinators UNITE... tomorrow.

The cactus

This story has to be traced back to a rainy day in the year 1997. A teacher gave a "bulb" of cactus as a hallux (thumb toe) to a few of her Standard One students. There was this one boy, who, is writing this passage now, was a recipient.

He started by planting the cactus in a small plastic vase. He took care of the plant pretty well (well, you can leave a cactus without much care for days and it won't die on you anyway). The cactus kept growing normally and it got a new home when it had the size of a child's fist.

Eventually, the cactus started budding more little cacti. Those little cacti repeated and continued the process of growth and budding like the old cactus experienced. At that time the irresponsible boy who started this had already succumbed to the games that made him what is him today. And so his loving mother took over the "custody" of the cacti.

Over time, the cacti grew so much that the boy couldn't recognize it. The once considerable big pot that housed the cacti couldn't support them anymore. It was too late to shift them into a bigger pot or the open land outside the house, but perhaps it might be a blessing in disguise as otherwise a land overgrown with cacti would be expected.

And now, it seems that this boy has a new hobby. The 'girls' he brought back (bought) seem to enjoy their time at the garden of the house managed by the mother. There is this girl named Azunyan who seems to like the cacti a lot.

Tickle tickle~ nya~! ♥

Will this place completely become their playground and live happily ever after? Well, who knows?

A-Level vs STPM

It is known that A-Level students will take both AS- and A2-Level exams for 3 or 4 subjects to finish their course, assuming no drop-outs in between. Hence,
A-Level = AS-Level exam + A2-Level exam
I was told that both exams are independent to each other (i.e. AS = AS and A2 = A2, and hence AS-Level = AS topics and A2-Level = A2 topics). But the truth is that A2-Level actually still requires us to remember the AS topics (i.e. A2-Level = AS and A2 topics). Assuming a quarter of the AS topics are interrelated with A2 topics,
A-Level = AS topics + (1/4 AS topics + A2 topics)
= 5/4 AS topics + A2 topics
Students have to study more on AS topics as normal humans tend to forget things. And then the error (careless mistakes by students, marking mistakes by examiners, errors in machines scanning OMR sheets, LUCK, etc) is given by:
Δ A-Level = 5/4(Δ AS topics) + Δ A2 topics, Δ A-Level > 0 (1)
On the other hand, it is known that Form 6 students will take only STPM. Hence,
Form 6 = STPM, and similarly
Δ Form 6 = Δ STPM
Assuming both courses are of similar course structures, STPM = AS + A2.
Form 6 = AS topics + A2 topics, and
Δ Form 6 = Δ AS topics + Δ A2 topics, Δ Form 6 > 0 (2)
Comparing equations (1) and (2), Δ A-Level > Δ Form 6.

Taking all fees that are involved into account, P for A-Level >> P for Form 6. I (my dad) am paying more to study A-Level which has higher uncertainty than STPM.

Conclusion: I dah kena con :(

(You may not take this seriously as I just simply bullshitted everything)

Dead

Well.. A dead blog sure is dead.. don't know what more to do with it now.

Too few incentive to make this blog a decent place.

FINALLY

I was able to place an order for Nendoroid Ritsu from Hobby Search just after I came back from college yesterday, misusing my dad's credit card in the process. The only sad part is that HS does not have any discounts in shipping costs like Amiami does for this whole month. For my failure in English reading I've misunderstood HS's SAL Commemorative Sale as the discount in shipping costs for the very same reason.

And so I chose EMS to ship my ordered item due to the misunderstanding. The shipping cost is at least 40% of the price of the figurine I've ordered (1380yen for shipping, 3238yen for the nendo, you do the math). Oh great.. but then, it's a lot better than SAL Small Packet because it allows you to track your shipment and insured up to 20000yen. The best is, of course, you can receive your goods hell lot faster than SAL, mostly within one week for Asian countries.

Well, not to fret much but if I wasn't asleep when Amiami restocked, I could have saved a lot in shipping cost since Amiami has 50% discount on international shipping. I could as well get her for under RM160.. But looking at the good side, securing my order from them is way lot better than buying from eBay sellers (scalpers). They can simply sell at at least 5000yen, exclusive of shipping..

Anyways HS has shipped my Ritsu today, so I'll most probably receive her latest by April Fool's day. If everything goes smoothly, my K-ON! band will be completed by the end of June, when Mugi and Azunyan have been released. My collection's gotta get more lively that time ^^

Update: I think she can even reach me by next Wednesday at this rate ^^ Just pray that nothing spoils my joy, e.g. item hold by custom (for you-know-what reason), the box got shitted out by some stupid custom officer or postman (for unknown reasons).

AGAIN

Today got back home, paid a visit to Hobby Search, saw Nendoroid Tainaka Ritsu on restock! I immediately put it on my cart and attempted to checkout, but I have no credit card. I phoned my dad for that, he said he will check on the legitimacy of the site, and then Ritsu got sold out at the very moment I hang up the phone. MISSED THE CHANCE TO GET HER AGAIN! ARGH!! EMO!

Update: Yet another restock at Amiami some hours after HS, but I still missed it. I suddenly found myself fallen asleep just well before the order was opened for about half hour before it ran out of stock again.

These 2 close calls killed my week. It's always like this, camping at these sites hoping for a restock, and when they do I just couldn't make it for whatever stupid reasons, be it I'm having class, pending permission from my dad, or the stupidest of all: fell asleep. Maybe I should just stop collecting these things and use the money saved for proper meals everyday.

*bangs my head on the wall repeatedly*

*left room*

Ok, what's the meaning of all these? This fellow forced me to give him a clan, which I don't want to, and said me selfish for that? First, who on earth are you to force me to give you my clan-creating power? I don't wanna create a clan for myself then I should give it to you?

Second, I appreciate your persistence in wanting to be in a clan so badly. Perhaps you can be a successful salesman in the future for your "thick skin-ness", but not for your "u selfish........" when I go against your will. Remember, you're the beggar to me now. If you're the so-called kind one, can you get yourself to lv25 and then create a clan and offer me into it? I highly doubt that.

It took so much effort to get to lv25, and you expect me to just give my ability to you just like that? Talk before thinking. Did you know that sentence can offend me so much and made me felt so guilty? Fcuken low-life, go get a life dude. This world is neither revolving around you nor me. Don't go around criticizing others when they don't follow your will.

ComicFiesta 2009 @ Sunway Pyramid

1 month late post. Got derailed from my blogging passion already. Anyway this will be a short post about Comic Fiesta 2009, which I went the day after I came back from Genting Highlands.

I got to know about this event 1 week prior to the date when Bill Goh told me about it, inviting pro Jhun together as well. We were reluctant to go at first due to the RM15 entrance fee, but we still went at last. Thanks to Bill for driving us there :)

As this was my first time attending this kind of event, I wasn't really used to the surroundings. It's so much different from PIKOM PC Fairs (obviously), as there were so many normal camera users, DSLR-wielding photographers with intensive flashes (which includes me, except that I'm a complete noob), and of course, the cosplayers. Too bad that I'm still myself: not that daring to ask for permissions to take their photographs. I could only take the advantage when the cosplayers were stopped by other photographers =/

Still, my pictures sucked as I set the wrong white balance. Anyway, if you would like to look at some pictures taken, you can visit my CF album at Facebook, though the excess warm colours had been edited out from these pictures.

One of the things I liked the most in that event was the MCees, dayumm they were just so humourous that made me burst in laughters (and of course everyone else in the event).

Actually, there was a motive for me to go CF 2009. If you hadn't know, the poison by Bill suddenly attacked me and so I got this new hobby of collecting Nendoroids. I'd ordered 4 nendos online at The Figure Mall and since they had a booth there I had to go there to collect my items. Besides I also arrange a meet up with a Lowyat.Net forummer for my Haruhi Suzumiya keychain gashapon sets as well. That was the biggest spending to date, with a total expenditure of RM615 (not including F&B) that day.

We returned home after collecting my items. I will make a mini review of my Nendoroid collection IF I had the time and passion to do it ;)

Lastly, it's new year now. But I'm not happy, because at the 8th day of new year I got a stupid jackpot summon. Not kind of a good way to start a new year eh?
